Pasqual "Paskie" Bylon Montano

December 15, 1944 — February 9, 2025

Pasqual Bylon Montano Sr., lovingly known as "Paskie," passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on December 15, 1944, in Long Beach, California.

Paskie was a hardworking and generous man who dedicated much of his life to welding and trucking. He had a passion for old cars, horse racing, and, above all, spending time with his family. Though sometimes a bit rough around the edges, his love for his family and close friends, especially his Las Vegas family—was undeniable.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Montano, his mother, Adella Marquez Montano; Aabram Marquez; and his grandson, Albert Martinez.

Paskie leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory forever: his children, Martin Marvin Montano, Pasqual Bylon Montano Jr., and Anna Maria Montano-Salas (Miguel Salas); his daughter-in-law, Julie Peters; his siblings, Antonia Sanchez (Abe), Marcos Marquez (Peggy), Martha Wu (Alex), and Mario Marquez (Carolyn).

He was a proud grandfather to Joella Montano, Martin Montano (Amber), Dylan Montano (Karissa), Raylene Martinez, Nina Valdez (Eric), Aaron Montano, Antonio Salas (April), and Antonia "Sissy" Salas. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Julian, Joey, Jade, Reese, Tommy, Pooh Bear, Riley, AJ, Carly, Hailee, Sebastian, Adriea, and Javier. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

"We also can't forget about his three loyal companions: Jodie, Noochie, and Booger. He loved his dogs dearly, and they brought so much joy and comfort to his life. His bond with them was unbreakable, and they were always by his side, showing him the unconditional love that only a dog can give. "They were not just pets, they were family."

A Rosary will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 7:00 PM at St. Mary’s Parish in Farmington, NM. Funeral services will take place the following day, Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at St. Mary’s Parish.

Paskie will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his generosity, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
